The article considers the bilateral economic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan. Economic achievements and some of the problems in the economic relations between the two countries for 22 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992 to the present day. Also the new quality of the relationship which reached a high level of strategic partnership in the political and economic spheres. The importance of the economic component for the development of two countries. The analysis of agreements signed during the visits of leaders of ministries and departments. Also, this article describes the similarity of the position of Kazakhstan and Japan according to the global issues such as the peaceful use of nuclear energy and nuclear nonproliferation
