Formation and development of environmental risk insurance in Europe and the USA

Abstract

The questions of environmental safety. The lack of clear mechanisms to determine the extent of damage is a major problem in this direction. Deepening of market reforms in economy, the change in ownership structure requires the introduction of methods of economic regulation in the field of environmental protection and effective mechanisms for environmental management. One such mechanism is the environmental insurance. However, despite considerable support for environmental insurance by environmental agencies, commercial insurance companies and regional governments, as well as practical experience, there are still significant problems in the methodological support to assess damage.The experience of developed countries is the actual direction of research in this direction.
