Abstract

In this article the water issues are considered as a part of the resource and technological factors of the global economy development, and a provision of resources as the constant for economic development. Limitation of natural resources and socio-economic and scientific-technical conditions of their involvement in production is considered as a factor. The role of water in human life and in the production process. Peculiarities of water as a free good and as an economic resource. Quantity and types of water in nature. The manifestation of fresh water scarcity in global scales. Socio-economic consequences of the safe water deficiency. Water as a natural gift and as an industrial raw materials. National and international aspects of the problem of water resources. International river basins and the problems of distribution of their water resources among riparian countries. Problems of sweet-water scarcity and possible regions of international tension on water resources.
