THE FOURTH CRUSADE: NEW ESTIMATES IN MODERN HISTORIOGRAPHIES

Abstract

This article is considered current estimates of the importance in the history of Eastern European wars of chivalry the 4-th crusade.Historiography of the events of the traditional silent on its effect for the historical fate of Christian civilization. This article shows that the unresolved problem is to show the history of the 4-th crusade as an expression of deep crisis of the peasant movement which resulted in the largest orthodox nation.
