Economic dimension of cyber security: China case

Abstract

This article studies economic dimension of information technologies and cyber security in contemporary China. Rapid development of cyber industry in China, its growing role in national economy makes security issues in this sphere very urgent. During study of economic dimension of cyber security it is necessary to take into consideration the specifics of China. Also, the article views main threats, crimes and response actions of the government in this field. Due to life importance of information based economy for PRC it is important to carry out efficient policy in this area and develop responsible government bodies. One of China’s specifics in this field is a variety of actors in economic dimension of cyber security including groups within Central committee of Chinese Communist party, ministries, law enforcement bodies and military units. Nowadays PRC and its leaders are in search for politics fit for national specifics of economic aspects of cyber security.
