Abstract

In higher education the West «International Relations» is usually part of the political science or «politology». A similar situation exists in the majority of universities in Europe, USA, Japan and other countries. There are no faculties of international relations. On the contrary, in the Russian tradition, all directions «International Relations» have been developed much earlier than political science. It so happened that through the «International Relations» was developed by a certain system of knowledge about the political relations of nation-states, international organizations, about the outside world and foreign policy, developed specific methodology for their study, borrowed largely from related disciplines – philosophy, sociology, history and al. In the early 1990s, two specialties have first been discovered in Kazakhstan – «International Relations» and «Political Science». Both directions of its development is based on the Russian experience and Western standards of the Bologna system. In this article we will focus on methods of applied analysis, in particular the systemic-functional approach and individual techniques of international relations and foreign policy.
