Perspectives of Kazakhstan-EU cooperation in the context of the new Cooperation Agreement

Abstract

The multi-vector policy of Kazakhstan shows a peaceful orientation of its international course, which determines direction and reflects the commitment of the modern international legal principles. EU is the one of the key partners. This article examines the evolution of relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union until the stage of signing a new agreement on enhancing cooperation. As you know, the legal basis for cooperation was laid in 1995. Then sthe Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation Agreement were signed. It entered into force only in 1999. These were the standard agreements that have been concluded with all the countries of Central Asia. Then there were the adoption of additional protocols, sectoral agreements. After two decades of cooperation to further develop partnerships between Kazakhstan and the EU needs to deepen the political and legal framework.
