European Union strategy in Central Asia: security dimension

Abstract

The article is devoted to European Union policy in Central Asia in the context of security issues. The analysis of interim results, which were declared in the strategy plan, is basedon «The European Union and Central Asia: Strategy for a New Partnership» for 2007 -2013.The European Union possess itself as coordinator of programs aimed at the fighting against drugs, transnational crime and strengthening border control in Central Asia. The article considers tools of the EU policy on security, such as BOMCA and CADAP, as well as their effectiveness and results.
