Knowledge and policy of Qing empire about Abylay khan

Abstract

Qing empire established by manjures was the last absolute feudal empire of China (1644-1911). Direct relations and state border between China, Kazakh khanate and Middle Asian countries established during rule of Qing empire. Qing empire widened their territory up to Kazakh territory by abolishing Zhonggar khanate and suppressing uigur rebellion. Qing empire started to collect information about relations between kazakhs and zhonggars since 1697 and kept gathering information. But they didn’t pay attention to it. Before starting march to Zhonggar khanate Qing empire gathered military information on Kazakhs. They made some knowledges and policy related to Kazakhs on information given by Amirsana. Qing empire knew Abylay khan as a governor of Kazakh khanate and established diplomatic relations with him. To keep peaceful community in Zhonggar khanate Qing empire implemented all requirements of Abylay khan. Abylay khan reached a big achievements in politicaleconomic spheres by using «soft» diplomatic steps.
