Cooperation of the Central Asian countries in solving environmental problems

Abstract

This article analyze the issues of regional cooperation in solving environmental problems in Central Asia. The region has a number of unresolved environmental problems. And particularly important problem is thelack of water. Namely, the problems of transboundary rivers and lowering the Aral Sea. In 1993 was established the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea by the initiative of the five Central Asian states. The article discusses the work and achievements of the fund. Environmental problems of Central Asia are not limited within the region, the problem has global importance, and affects all countries of the world. Of course the question can not be resolved within the framework of only one country is therefore considered the importance of regional organizations and integration processes in the region.
